An amazing and incredibly important product! Easy to use and provided informative and clear information about my fertility. Highly recommend!

Apart from a slightly scary prick, the whole Maybe Baby experience was positive! The results were clear and easy to understand. The wait felt a bit long for me due to weekends and holidays, so it was also appreciated when you informed me about the delay.

Jessica

Good instructions on how to perform the test, nice to have both a summary and more detailed information about the different parts of the results.

Molly

The most wonderful treatment and I still have great contact with you. So incredibly grateful for what you do. So happy that I got to experience the wonderful thing you've created.

DHEA-S Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate

Think of DHEA-S as the body's building material - it's the foundation your body uses to produce other important hormones like testosterone and estrogen.

What does it do?

DHEA-S is mainly produced in the adrenal glands and is the most abundant steroid hormone in the body. It functions as a precursor hormone - your body converts it into testosterone and estrogen as needed. DHEA-S levels peak in your 20s and gradually decline after that.

Why does it matter?

Knowing your DHEA-S level can help you understand your androgen levels. Elevated DHEA-S can contribute to acne, increased body hair, or irregular periods. It can also help distinguish whether androgen excess comes from the adrenal glands or ovaries.

Reference range: DHEA-S varies with age. Typical for women 18-39: 65-380 ug/dL. Values outside this range may be worth discussing with a doctor.
