What does free T4 do in your body?
Free T4 (thyroxine) is the hormone your thyroid produces the most of. It circulates in the blood and is converted to the active T3 in your body's cells. If T4 is too low or too high, it can affect everything from your energy and weight to your menstrual cycle and fertility.
What's included in Maybe Baby's hormone test?
Our test measures free T4 along with up to 11 other hormones for a complete picture of your hormonal health.

“So happy! The test was super easy to order, and the finger prick was barely noticeable. The report was clear and easy to understand, and customer service replied right away when I had a question. Felt safe all the way 💜”
“Fast and easy! It gave me peace of mind when my period took a little while to come back after stopping the pill. I got such lovely, quick responses whenever I had questions, and help when I'd accidentally sent my test back the wrong way 🤭 really recommend it!”
“Super easy test that gave clear results and put my worries to rest even though I'm not trying to get pregnant right now.”
“Strongly recommend doing this if you're curious about your fertility. It's about so much more than just checking your egg reserve. The full picture is so important, and this test gives you everything you need to know where you stand if you want to have children. For me personally, it's been extremely positive for my health, because thanks to the test I found out I need to sort out my thyroid to feel better and be able to have a healthy pregnancy in the future. Thank you for your wonderful customer support.”
What will you learn?
Your egg reserve
Your eggs, also known as "ovarian reserve" - whether you have more or fewer eggs than average for your age.
Your thyroid
Your thyroid levels. The thyroid can affect your mood, skin, weight, energy and ovulation.
Warning flags
Whether there are signs of hormonal imbalance that may affect your fertility.
Menopause
Your AMH levels can indicate whether you may enter menopause earlier or later than average.
Thyroid
Free T4 — Free Thyroxine
Think of free T4 as the fuel storage - it's the hormone your thyroid produces the most of, ready to be converted into energy when your body needs it.
What does it do?
T4 is produced in the thyroid gland and is the main hormone form released into the blood. Free T4 is the portion not bound to proteins and therefore available to your body's cells. In the cells, T4 is converted to T3, the active form that directly affects metabolism.
Why does it matter?
Free T4 gives a direct picture of what your thyroid is actually producing. Together with TSH, it helps distinguish between different types of thyroid problems. Abnormal T4 levels can affect your energy, weight, skin, hair, and reproductive health.
